Innovations 2023

Wood chips have been added to the recipe of two well-known beers from Brasserie St-Feuillien.
For the St-Feuillien Quadruple French oak shavings and for the St-Feuillien Grand Cru, acacia shavings.
These chips, added during aging, enhance the natural qualities of the beer, intensify the tastes and aromas already present and allow the introduction of new woody flavors.

St-Feuillien Quadruple Oaked

The St Feuillien Quadruple Oak Wood Aged is a very dark and dense brown beer. It is set apart by its complex malted flavour, with notes of Madeira wine and candied fruit as well as an intense hint of fermentation esters (a fruity, banana-like flavour). The infusion of French oak chips during cellaring enhances the beer with woody notes of vanilla, caramel and coconut, and blends harmoniously with a light hoppy bouquet. The mouthfeel is long and powerful, with a robust body. Bitterness is present, but mild. Macerating the oak chips brings out the ingredient’s natural qualities: smoothness and a full mouthfeel. The selection of special malts elevates the chocolate notes blended with hints of coconut.

Grand Cru Acacia Wood Aged

GrandCruWood Aged is a speciality beer carefully crafted. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale color of the Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body. Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness. When savored, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances (dry hopping). When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness. The macerated acacia chips, which create delicate wood notes and a touch of carefully balanced, soft vanilla, enhance the beer and emphasize its natural fruity and fresh taste. They accentuate the cohesion and sharpness of the flavors and refine the body and fullness of this exclusive beer, which has a rare elegance.

St-Feuillien FRUIT

biere fruitee

Scintillating, fresh and delicately flavoured, St-Feuillien FRUIT is a top-fermented beer, refermented in the bottle, brewed from barley and wheat malts, with a slightly hoppy taste. Its amaranth colour is reminiscent of a young Burgundy. The head is thin and compact. This blend creates a riot of sweet yet slightly bitter tastes redolent of red berries and other exquisite fruits. The raspberry and red berry aromas are clearly perceptible. It is easy to digest and low in alcohol.
